The Infrastructure Behind America's 401(k) Data Flows

PayKonnect was founded in 2014 with a specific mission: automate the data flow between payroll systems and retirement recordkeepers that was costing payroll companies hours every pay cycle and creating compliance risk for every employer plan they served.

We started in the 401(k) industry by automating contribution flows between payroll providers and investment companies. Our payroll customers kept asking for more — more formats, more recordkeepers, more automation of the return data flows. So we built it. Today PayKonnect is the integration layer connecting 100+ payroll companies to 80+ recordkeepers and 130+ retirement plan providers.

We're not a generic iPaaS. We're the retirement integration specialist — the platform that the payroll ecosystem depends on when someone asks "can you integrate with our 401(k) provider?" and the answer needs to be yes.

Why PayKonnect — Not a Generic Integration Platform

Retirement-specific since day one

We didn't start as a generic data connector and add retirement features later. 401(k) payroll integration was the original problem we solved. The 180°/360° terminology, the recordkeeper format requirements, the SECURE 2.0 compliance fields — this is our entire domain, not a use case we adapted for.

The managed service model that actually works

When Ascensus updates their inbound format, PayKonnect updates every integration that points to Ascensus. When the IRS issued final SECURE 2.0 regulations in September 2025, PayKonnect updated all integrations before the January 1, 2026 effective date. You don't track regulatory calendars. We do.

Embedded in the ecosystems that matter

Gusto's App Marketplace. Paycor's Marketplace. PrismHR's Marketplace. Ascensus's May 2026 partner directory. Vestwell's support documentation. J.P. Morgan's ProgramPay support articles. These aren't claims — they're public listings that reflect 12 years of relationship-building in the payroll and retirement ecosystem.
